The Teen International Giving Forum is geared towards high school freshman, junior and sophomore students who are looking for innovative ideas and projects to support globally in exchange for personal growth and increased cross-cultural awareness, school credit, and strengthening their college applications.
The event, which is sponsored by Union Bank, will take place on December 3rd at the Joan Kroc Center for Peace & Justice at the University of San Diego, and will feature a panel of inspiring teen leaders and social change agents.
Confirmed speakers include: Alec Loorez, founder of Kids v.s. Global Warming, Morgan Hicks, founder of the Youth International Philanthropy Council at the International Community Foundation, Caitlin Hird, founder of the Teens Against Cervical Cancer Fund, Sydney Thayer, volunteer at Smiles International Tecate Cleft Palate Clinic, and Esteban and Jacobo Ochoa Falomir, co-founders of Pax Arbores, A.C. in Cuidad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico.
The event will also include a networking lunch where teens can meet foundation donors and Mexican nonprofit leaders to learn about programs and projects that they can support internationally. Those students with existing projects can also share their plans with potential donors.
