A Song Of Birds — Moonbeams

You really have to go to the Internet Archive and see this cartoon. This is Max Fleischers work, and the sense of three dimensions is incredible. This seems to be one of the first of the “code” cartoons, it’s color, 1935 or so, and comes with a brand in the credits stating it adheres to the standards of decency. Because it was cartoons like Fleischers “Betty Boop” that made peope gasp at the immorality going in cartoonland. This cartoon is an obvious little parable about little kid learning it’s not nice to shoot songbirds with a bb gun, but the animation is amazing. “Moonbeams” is a fantasy piece done on the GR-20, and well, I think sounds like a succession of light. This is the Roland GR-20 bolted up to a Jackson Dinky Strat. Some rights reserved Welcome to Route 66.
